Chuang 2021 Announce Rankings For Trainees Globally Round 3

On 13th March 2021, Chuang 2021 announced the trainee rankings for round 3 of the show!

This time, the rankings for votes from viewers of different countries were included. Are you ready to find out? Let’s take a look at the votes from Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Phillippines and then the overall rankings!

Chuang 2021 Top 11 Trainees Based on Votes From Indonesia

Based from the votes in Indonesia, Patrick appears to be a crowd favourite, followed by Nine and then Santa. The votes reflect the preferences reflect the Indonesians for international trainees as the top 3 individuals are all international. Out of the list, it’s interesting to note that only 4 of the top 11 trainees are local Chinese trainees, though Zhou Keyu ranks fairly high at the fourth placing. He is the best performing Chinese trainee so far.

Since there are many Japanese trainees in Chuang 2021, it is not surprising that among the Japanese viewers, their top picks are Japanese trainees. It is interesting to note that Nine remains very popular across two countries now – in Japan and Indonesia, as he managed to rank within the top 5 for both.

Patrick, previously ranked first in Indonesia is completely excluded in this list while a fresh set of Chinese trainees appear to have caught the eyes of the Japanese viewers. In particular, Hu Yetao, Xue Baiyi and Bo Yuan are trainees who did not appear as favourites among the Indonesian viewers but are well-loved by the Japanese!

Another interesting appearance on the list is by Hiroto, as he receives strong support from his fanbase back at home. This could be due to the fact that he had joined Produce 101 Japan earlier before, and it can be seen that support for the idol has all but dwindled.

Korean viewers appear to share the same love for Patrick, Nine and Santa as the Indonesian viewers. The three international trainee regains top spot once more, though Liu Yu and Zhou Keyu follow up closely behind them. Mika and Rikimaru’s positions are also quite consistent, having appeared top 11 three times in a row now.

That said, the rankings for Santa, Nine and Zhou Keyu are looking steady as they have appeared in the top 11 list twice in a row now. Lin Mo and Liu Zhang was also top 11 among the Indonesian viewers and this doesn’t change much from the viewpoint of the Korean voters as well. Though Oscar’s position has dipped slightly as compared to the preferences of the Indonesian viewers, he remains a consistent top 11. Liu Zhang also makes it barely as top 11 in Korea, with his ranking dropping slightly as compared to the charts in Indonesia.

It is interesting to note that a new face, Gan Wangxing makes a first appearance in the top 11 in Korea!

Chuang 2021 Top 11 Trainees Based on Votes From Malaysia

Based on the votes casted in Malaysia, Santa continues his stronghold in top 3, and Rikimaru also gets a place on the podium for a second time in a row. This also marks Mika’s first entry into top 3, pointing to some fabulous support he has in Malaysia. Once again Zhou Keyu is very close to top 3, and remains the most consistently best performing Chinese trainee so far.

Jing Long is a fresh face in the top 10 list, since he makes his first appearance in Malaysia. Patrick appears to be less popular in Malaysia than the other countries, since he falls out of top 5. Oscar, Liu Yu and Lin Mo consistently make it up the list, with Lin Mo’s placing is just above the mark.

In Vietnam, we see another very interesting mix of results. For the first time out of the voting results from all countries so far, a Chinese trainee has emerged as a crowd favourite – Liu Yu. Liu Yu’s fame is interesting as he was ranked mid-list to lower mid-list in the other countries. In comparison, Santa and Rikimaru are the more consistent top 3 performers. Though this is a great result for Liu Yu, as it shows his popularity does not wane abroad.

Jing Long also comes shy of top 3, which is his best result out of all the top 11 rankings from the rest of the countries so far. Zhou Keyu and Mika are consistent, though interestingly Patrick and Nine are less popular than usual in Vietnam. Liu Zhang, Oscar and Caelan also make it up the list, have successively appeared in top 11.

Thailand is yet another nation home to many participating international Chuang 2021 trainees. It would be assumed that the top 3 would also rank as such. While the Thai trainees Patrick and Nine clinch the top 2 spots, Zhou Keyu, Mika and Oscar outdo the Thai-born Santa as the third, fourth and fifth placed.

Rikimaru maintains a consistent top 11 placing, while a fresh face, Zhang Jiayuan also makes his first debut in the top 11 rankings list. Wu Yuheng also makes a rare appearance, with Liu Yu being less popular in Thailand than in Vietnam where he was ranked first place. Liu Zhang also makes it into the list, though he remains at his usual tenth to eleventh placing.

In the Philippines, the international trainees rank top four, though Nine clinches top place for the first time. Patrick and Rikimaru remain very popular along with Santa. While Zhou Keyu and Mika hold a consistent spot in the middle. Oscar is also once again in the top 11.

Hu Yetao makes a second appearance in the top 11 once more, and the last time he appeared it was because he won favour with the Japanese viewers. Liu Yu and Liu Zhang maintain their positions in the list, while Lin Mo also reappears back as ranked tenth place.

When it comes to voting, the sheer volume of votes from the Chinese viewers cannot be ignored. However, the overall charts by WeTV appears to reflect the overall international trainee votes.

The trend appears rather consistent, as the overall top three still goes to Patrick, Nine and Santa, three of them who ranked consistently mostly as fifth place or better. Mika, Zhou keyu and Rikimaru’s placing are also consistent in the mid-list. Liu Zhang is also a frequent top 11 internationally so it is expected to see him up the list.

What is surprising is that Lin Mo does not make it to the overall rankings even though he is frequently in the top 11 list internationally.

Yet it is Wu Yuheng who is the dark horse instead, as internationally he has only made it up to the top 11 placing in Thailand once. Perhaps owing to a strong fanbase in Thailand and the rest of the voting countries not included in this analysis, he successfully makes it to top 11 for round 3.

Caelan on the other hand appears as ranked 10th place. Though he does not make it up the list internationally in every south-east and east asian country, his popularity is just enough to see him placed 10th! Unfortunately, this means that Lin Mo has been knocked out of the list, even as he makes it quite barely as the top 11 internationally.

It would have made for a more interesting analysis had WeTV released voter results from the Western and European countries perhaps even Australia and Singapore as these nations do also have many avid viewers of the show. It is also unclear how the votes from these countries look like.
