Wang Yibo and Li Zixuan (Stage Name: Dou Zi) have been alleged to be dating recently as rumours on Weibo started to spread. Things went overboard when a user on the popular Chinese forum, Douban made a post specifically identifying that it was Wang Yibo, 23 who was dating Li Zixuan, 25, ‘secretly’.
In the specific Douban post that circulated online, the netizen speculated about how Li Zixuan made Douyin videos that implied she was “dating” Wang Yibo, on grounds of her using the same “RedMi 10 purple edition phone”, “had a secet fan account shipping herself with Wang Yibo” amidst other allegations. They further speculated how she was Wang Yibo’s “ideal type,” as she was” older than him”, wore the “same brand of necklace” and more.
As the dating rumours intensified, Yuehua Entertainment issued an official statement:
“Today an internet user has released some false information related to our artiste Wang Yibo’s love life. This information then got disseminated and became a subject of further discussion by the media and lots of netizens online, causing negative impact on the online environment. It is also infringing on the legal rights and interest of Mr Wang Yibo. For clarification purposes, our company’s official announcement is as such.

- “Today’s 30 million liu liang idol gossip is about Wang Yibo and Li Zi Xuan” “The 30 Million gossip is Wang Yibo” etc are words made out of thin air. The misrepresentation has caused a serious public misinformation regarding our artiste Wang Yibo and also seriously infringed on the legitimate rights.
- This is a warning to the relevant bodies to immediately delete the contents disseminated that infringe on the legal rights of Wang Yibo. Our company will reserve the rights to pursue legal action against the infringing entity.
- Our company also calls on the internet users to refrain from spreading the false statements, but to also act rationally […]and abide by the law.”
Similarly Dou Zi’s management has also posted a statement denying the rumours, affirming that “Miss Li Zixuan is single.”
Wang Yibo‘s page has also reposted Yuehua Entertainment’s statement, adding:
“The false remarks fabricated out of thin are suspected to be infringing on Mr. Wang Yibo’s legal rights and have been handed over to lawyers as evidence. We further reserve the right to pursue legal action.”
Who is Dou Zi (Li Zixuan)?
For the international C-pop fans some may be curious who exactly is Li Zixuan.
Internationally, Li Zixuan is perhaps best known for her appearance on Produce 101 in 2018, where she finished the show ranked 12th place. Born in May 7, 1995, she is a C-pop singer in Mainland China.
She rose to prominence in June 2016, after she participated in Dragon TV’s variety talent show “Fighting! “Pretty Girl” (加油！美少女) and was crowned champion of the final season.
We hope that things are cleared up for now and that both idols can focus on their work.
This is also not the first time Wang Yibo’s dating life has come under intense scrutiny. Earlier this year, some mistook his assistant as his ‘secret girlfriend’ due to an Instagram post where a female was sighted in the reflection of his ring.
